Switch off Sedation

“Sedation is a common side effect of antipsychotic drugs, mediated by effects of different receptor populations. Over 100 years of psychological studies demonstrated that sedation causes broad cognitive impairment. Drugs that are sedative can be expected to augment an already present cognitive impairment; nonsedative drugs should be suprerior in this respect” (ref.1).

Persistent sedation, including daytime drowsiness and increased sleep time, can interfere with social, recreational and vocational function (ref.3).
